They seem light weight but are working out very well. I'm a bookkeeper and I give them to my clients to transport paperwork between my office and theirs and they seem to work well. The bright colors are good because they know who they belong to and why they are there, which is the point. When I used to usual envelopes they would get lost or miss places all the time.
The also protect paperwork from the late night coffee spills.

I love the colors of these folders but the plastic is a little flimsy. Haven't seen if they hold up for the rigors of travel (holding my documents) yet
